It Might Be Wax

We’re experts in the topic nobody likes discussing: earwax.

We all have it, some of us more than others, and it’s important to recognize the impact earwax can have on our hearing ability and our hearing aids. Not only does earwax work as a barrier keeping external debris from getting deep into our ears, but it also protects the tissue of our ear canals by lubricating and coating them. Earwax also has incredible antimicrobial properties that help protect our ears from infections.

When you visit our office, you’ll get the benefit of a thorough ear examination using a high-tech video camera to actually show you inside your own ear canal so you can see for yourself what’s causing all the trouble and see if earwax removal is needed.

If we find that earwax is creating an issue with your natural hearing ability or is impacting your hearing aid’s functionality, we can help! At Hearing Aid Specialists of the Central Coast, we have all the equipment needed to thoroughly clean out your hearing aids, and leave you enjoying your life with ease again.
